Death and Dying
Heather Snyder was diagnosed with stage IV Melanoma Cancer in July of 2008, after a year of chemo her family thought is was gone. They have just found out in February of this year the cancer has returnded. Snyder is determined to fight this cancer for herself and her family. She is about to start another round of chemo. In the pictures are her two kids Ella and Kyler.
I love that you were able to get some action in your photos. I didn't really have that option with my subject. It adds good storytelling appeal to your photos by bringing into perspective the fact that she is a mother and obviously isn't the only one suffering from her illness. In regards to the photos, I like the emotion. Compositionally, I think that the subjects are being cut off and the pictures would benefit from a little alterations in your angle. Generally, all of the photos could come down a little and would result in getting more of the subject in the shot.
Nice job, Sundee. I think on the middle photo I'd consider doing a vertical crop. I think you did a nice job of showing what a loving, adoring mother Heather is. They photos tug at your heartstrings when you allow yourself to think of those children growing up without this mommy.

ReplyDeleteThis family looks so happy, it's really sad to find out her cancer came back. Good job of capturing emotion, especially the middle one.
ReplyDeleteI really like the second picture. The lighting is good and it shows great emotion. Its a shame the cancer came so early in her life...
