Photo Essay
My photo essay is of my grandparents 50th anniversary party. I enjoyed this topic because it is obviously personal to me and something that I really liked documenting.

There are always really great photo stories on news sites, and today I found award winning photos on CBS's website. They are newsworthy, but also have great emotional appeal.

For my photo essay, I covered a 3-hour event sponsored by Northeast Partners for Healthy Families, which took place on Saturday, May 1st, at the Atwater NCH Community Center. The kick-off event was an effort to make parents aware of ways their families could live healthier lives through physical activity and healthy eating. Several informational booths related to healthy food preparation along with physical activities for those children in attendence were available. The photos above are a preview from my final project. (Top) Emile McGill and Melody McCray-Miller of the African American Coalition plant tomatoes for children and parents in attendence. (Middle) Children use ribbons to dance to music.
