I was messing around with the features of my camera and came up with this. I like that it captured the shadow on the brick and a little bit of the flame.
I really really like the color of the candle and how much it came out in the photo. It interests me because the bricks behind it are also a tint of red, but the candle stands out.
I'm wondering if this is the camera's flash that is casting that shadow. If so, I wonder what it would look like with the flash turned off. One thing's for sure, I bet the flame would stand out a lot more. In this picture, the brightest spot isn't the flame but rather the glare/reflection on the candle itself.

ReplyDeleteI agree about the shadows. Contrast is my favorite element in photography and this puts a different spin on it than I'm used to!
