For our assignment this week, I decided to hit the bowling alley to get some nice action shots. Although to my dismay, due to several ongoing birthday parties, I was required to partake in cosmic bowling on a Saturday afternoon. The lighting was far from perfect, and, even with the flash on, I had a hard time capturing a shot that truly complimented the action. So, please excuse the lighting on the bowling photo. I also included another shot from when I took photos while sledding for our assignment the other week, as well as a photo I took just messing around at home with my camera, trying to capture something in action. For the bowling picture, I think the pose is perfect, and I love how the ball is in mid air. I like the emotion in the sledding picture, along with how the snow is flying in the air. On the dice photo, I like how the dice are stopped mid-roll and none of them are lying flat on the table.
I really like the motion of the sledding picture. The snow flying up adds a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteI really like the picture with the die, it really shows movement with each dice frozen in a different position. But I wish that he wasn't looking at the camera and was instead more focused on the action of his rolling die.
ReplyDeleteI find the dice rolling picture amusing. The guy's t-shirt cracks me up. The sledding shot is nice, has an explosive quality to it. As for the bowling, I wonder what a low-light shot might've looked like. Maybe some cool silhouettes and funky motion blur? Seems like the flash is just kind of weak.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice Cary. I'll have to look into that. I tried to shoot both with and without the flash, but without the flash it was too dark to make anything out. Next time I'll consider the low light with flash setting that I have on my camera and maybe I'll get better results.
